How to Define Your Career Path & Success in the Tech Industry

Thursday, May 5th at 6:30pm 12 months ago
You want to add ‘Developer’ to your résumé, but not sure it fits? Front-end developer, back-end developer, full-stack developer, software engineer... what do all of these mean anyway? And is it even really how you want to incorporate code into your career?

The great thing about the tech industry is there are so many paths, but figuring out which one is right for you can be challenging. That’s what this workshop is for — people who have started to learn to code but aren’t sure what their career and life looks like afterwards. Or maybe, you have been coding for a while and you're not sure what the next step looks like.

Forget the tech industry stereotypes! With an emphasis on defining your own career path and a focus on underrepresented groups (though this workshop is for everyone), this 2 hour session with Christina Truong will help you figure out how to navigate the industry without losing yourself in the process.

Some topics to be covered include:
- how to define your career path
- how to build your brand with authenticity
- navigating the tech industry
- finding the balance between personal and professional
- how to incorporate your values into your job search

You'll also benefit from a small class, where you’ll get the opportunity to ask an experienced developer & educator your biggest career-questions and network with other like-minded, driven people.
