Tuesday, October 21st at 6:00pm 32 months ago
Achievers InCenter 190 Liberty Street, Toronto, ON
Robyn Larsen became a developer out of pure desperation. After quitting the 9-5 as a nuclear engineer, she was out of money and out of ideas. Fast forward: Robyn is now working with some of the world’s top agencies including MetaLabs and Cossette.

In this session, Robyn will discuss the 9 week transition and how she landed her first big contract with 140 characters, the similarities/differences in both careers, what she learned along the way and where she is going now. Robyn is a former nuclear engineer now blurring the lines between work and play as a front end web developer, mentor and entrepreneur.

Her tools of choice are HTML5, CSS3, Sass, responsive design, and Javascript. She lives by challenging assumptions, improving process, and never settles. Born & raised in small town Alberta - over the past few years she has snowboarded some of the world’s most majestic mountains, travelled to over 23 countries, cultivated movements and mentored students. Now you can now find her based in Toronto working with brands from all over the world.

Robyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Alberta and is an alumni of HackerYou in Toronto.

Today Robyn is focusing on perfecting her vanilla Javascript and using code as the medium to help bring beautiful and intuitive designs to life.

Doors open at 6:00 & talk will begin at 6:30 sharp.
